The following booking conditions together with the website general information form the basis of your contract with Marple Cottage Guest House. Please read them carefully as they set out our respective rights and obligations.
In these Booking Conditions, 'you' and 'your' means all persons named on the booking (including anyone who is added or substituted at a later date). 'We', 'us' and 'our' means Marple Cottage Guest House.
Payment Details
For all bookings we require credit/debit card details to secure the booking. For direct bookings and those made via our website, payment must be made in full 48 hours prior to arrival.
Some bookings require a non-refundable payment, which will be detailed in your booking confirmation.
For bookings that are whole house reservations we reserve the right to request a non-refundable deposit & Full payment is required 14 days prior to arrival.
Bookings made via a 3rd party agent such as Booking.com will be charged in full 48hr prior to arrival and is non-refundable or transferable.
Prices
The price includes accommodation with private en-suite. There are also complementary tea and coffee making facilities in all rooms and Free Wi-fi access.
We only accept payment by credit/debit cards or cash.
Cancellation Policy
Bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours prior to check in (2pm) on the day of arrival, after this
time a cancellation charges equivalent to one night's stay will be charged.
If for some reason you do need to cancel, it is important that you tell us at the first opportunity so that we may attempt to re-let your room and minimise your loss. You should take out cancellation insurance to protect you against possible loss.
If you do not cancel, but you fail to arrive for your stay with us, you agree that the sum due for your first night’s stay will be debited from the credit/debit card in full and final settlement.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking in the event of things Beyond our Reasonable Control. We will not be in breach of our agreements and booking contract, nor liable for any failure to perform any of our obligations in relation to your booking, due to any adverse event, act, omission or accident which is beyond our reasonable control.This includes but is not limited to: flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, interruption or fire, or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse or damage of building structures.We also reserve the right to cancel a booking due to personal emergencies, including but not limited to; a death in the family, personal injury or any type of medical or personal emergency.
No Shows
If you fail to check in by 10pm on your scheduled arrival day (unless otherwise informed), we will consider that you have cancelled your booking and you will be charged in accordance with the cancellation policy above.
Data Privacy
In order to process your booking, we will need to collect certain personal details from you. These details will include your name and contact details and those of any other members of your party. They will also include credit/debit card or other payment details relating to your booking.
Any information you supply to us may be retained on a database and will be used for the purposes of administrative functions, contacting you about a booking or sending you information about us.
Arrival
Your accommodation will be available to you from 2pm on your day of arrival. We do not offer check-in before 2pm. You are most welcome to arrive earlier to drop off luggage. We do not offer any other services or facilities prior to 2pm.
Departure
Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 11am on your day of departure. Should you wish to leave luggage for later collection please ensure this is agreed in advance.
Breakfast
If breakfast is available during your stay, please see your booking confirmation for your meal option.
If Breakfast is available during your stay, a full traditional breakfast can be ordered by request on check-in
at a cost of £10.00 per person.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care of our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation and its contents. Please let us know of any instances as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest's credit/ debit card, or we may send you an invoice, for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant. We may make an additional charge if you did not report this as soon as it occurs. Wilful damage will incur the full cost of replacement or repair.
Keys
You have access to the building and your room 24 hours a day throughout your stay using a set of keys given to you when you check in. You have full responsibility of these keys for the duration of your stay. Lost keys will be charged at £25.00 per set plus any additional costs incurred if any additional work is required, such as, locks having to be changed. Please ensure all keys are returned to reception on departure.
Behaviour
We will not tolerate any type of abusive, violent or unacceptable behaviour towards ourselves or any fellow guest. In the event of any type of incident, you and the rest of your party will be required to leave immediately and the booking terminated. The total amount of the booking will be chargeable.
Liability
We do not accept liability for damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Visitors
Guests are not allowed to bring any visitors onto the property without the express permission of the Marple
Cottage Guest house owner/ manager.
Smoking Policy
Upon making a booking you agree to our Non-Smoking policy as stipulated by law.Smoking and/or Vaping is not allowed in any of our rooms, nor is interfering with our fire detection system. If you do so, we will terminate your booking without refund and require you to leave immediately. You authorise us to charge you any costs we incur if you smoke or cause damage in our rooms including costs for specialist cleaning (to make the room fit for sale as a non-smoking environment) and the cost of the room for any time period it is unusable. A designated smoking area is provided outside at the patio at the front of the property.
Children
Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Pet policy
We regret that pets are not allowed at Marple Cottage Guest House.
Servicing of room
Rooms are serviced daily between 11am to 2pm. If you are not planning on being out during these hours or do not want your room serviced, please let us know.
Parking
On-street parking is available.
Lost property
Lost property will be held for 14 days from the date of departure, after that time it will be disposed of.
We do not mail items it is your responsibility to arrange collection.
